Okay, here's three simple questions...
can you answer them?
1. What is the controlling party of the
U.S. House of Representatives?
2. Who is the U.S. Secretary of State?
3. Who is Great Britain's prime minister?
If you know the answer to these three questions (without looking them up on the internet), then you are one of only 18% of Americans who could do it. What does that say about our society? And more importantly for me, what does that say about our faith? If we don't care enough about other countries and other people to know the answers to these three simple questions, then are we really caring about others?
True, that may not be an entirely fair statement. Some people are no good with names and other people hate politics, but what are you passionate about? Do you know things about other people's passions or are you solely concentrated on your own? It's one of those questions that makes you go hmmmm......
For the answer to those questions and more details on the article, go to: http://news.yahoo.com/s/livescience/20081015/sc_livescience/americansflunksimple3questionpoliticalsurvey
(Just in case that link is disabled, the answers are: Democrats, Condoleezza Rice, and Gordon Brown.)
